Gambling software provider CYOP Systems announced that its backend licensed CrediPlay financial systems and mango live games have been localized. This localization has been done into traditional, easy Chinese, so that on line poker software can be used globally. The percentage of gamers in the South Asian countries is growing rapidly. Hence Chinese Portals that target markets in China and Taiwan are being prioritized. Mitch White, CEO of CYOP Systems said that the company planned to aggressively license the games to major portals and gaming companies in Asia. A strong internet growth and easily available disposable income had contributed to a steady increase in gambling in Asian countries. The markets estimate 7.4 m Chinese online players by next year. Newest market to be cashed in is the densly populated, economically upbeat South Asian sector.
The region has seen its numbers grow and gambling and entertainment research firm Christiansen Capital Advisors estimates the number of Asian online gamblers will grow from 4 million in 2003 to 7.4 million by 2006. Asia’s fondness for gaming and a large population, which is inclined to spend its disposable income on leisure goods and services, makes it a natural objective for our growth.”
